Ray Young, Senior Vice President

Ray Young is a tested public relations and issues management specialist with more than six years of corporate communications, public affairs and public relations experience. Ray has handled client affairs in myriad industries, including energy, housing, healthcare, technology, agriculture, securities and education.

Before joining Halldin Public Relations in December 2002, Ray served as Deputy Press Secretary to GOP Gubernatorial Nominee Bill Simon. Before joining the Simon campaign, Ray served as Public Relations Coordinator for iVentex Solutions, a Rancho Cordova based IT consulting firm. While at iVentex, Ray oversaw internal and external communication, including public relations and marketing for the firm.

Ray began his career in public relations as an associate with Burson-Marsteller, where he worked extensively with elected officials, the media and the public regarding public affairs issues. He directed and managed several statewide grassroots campaign and public relations teams designed to influence legislative and public opinion. Some of the clients he has worked with while at Burson include the California Chamber of Commerce, CalTeach - an outreach program of the California State University, the California Building Industry Association, Southern California Edison, and Proposition 1A, the $9.2 billion school bond, on behalf of state universities and K-12 schools.

Ray attended the University of California, Los Angeles, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in 1998.

During his UCLA years, Ray was a staff member for Assemblyman Bruce Thompson, gaining valuable public affairs and research experience working on legislation and with constituents.
